A Sketchy Rumor Claims That The Galaxy S25 Series Will Only Offer Exynos 2500 Chipset

The Galaxy S25 series is still ten months or maybe even more from coming to life at the Galaxy Unpacked in January 2025. However, this does not mean that the rumors will be held back as a new bold and very sketchy rumor has surfaced claiming that Samsung’s next big thing will feature Exynos 2500 across the board, and we know that it will not be the case. Let me tell you why.

The Galaxy S25 should feature a mix of Exynos 2500 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 4

If you don’t remember, Samsung and Qualcomm entered a multi-year agreement over the use of Snapdragon chipsets, which meant that Samsung would enjoy the best of the best chipsets for years to come. So, it is obvious that the Galaxy S25 will have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, at least to some extent. The rumor, however, doesn’t believe in the same thing.

Now, the rumor does not completely shun the thought of Snapdragon chipsets in Galaxy phones; it just claims that they will be limited to the Galaxy Z series, which does make sense. However, if you consider how the Galaxy S is mainline and the Z series is based on the S series, it makes very little sense to exclude the Galaxy S25 series from using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. Of course, it is too early to say anything, but the rumor does not sit well with me, especially after the fact that both companies are in a multi-year agreement.

Even when you take into account that the Exynos 2400 actually performed decently when compared to its Snapdragon counterpart, it still does not make sense to prevent the Galaxy S25 users from enjoying the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and everything it has to offer. But then again, it still is too early to say anything about the future and how Samsung will move forward. What we do know is that there is plenty of information that is missing and will be coming forward in the coming weeks or months, to say the least.

Whatever the case, I highly suggest that you take this with a grain of salt because, at the end of the day, it all comes down to the decision Samsung takes. Both the Exynos 2500 and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 are not final at the time of writing, and the same goes for the Galaxy S25 series. It means that in the end, we might get something entirely different from what the speculations are suggesting.
