Alone in the Dark Trailer Shows Off its Different Paths, Unique Setting, and More

The new Alone in the Dark arrives in only a few short weeks, and publisher THQ Nordic has dropped a new trailer, showcasing some of its unique features. Much like the classic Resident Evil 2, players can play through the game as one of two different characters, Edward and Emily, with the experience changing based on which one you pick. The trailer shows how even character interactions will change based on who you play as. We also get a further look at Derceto Manor and its colorful cast of characters – it seems like interacting with them will be what really sets Alone in the Dark apart from your typical Resident Evil wannabe fare. Check out the trailer for yourself, below.

Will Alone in the Dark be the next Resident Evil? Probably not, but it looks like the game will be unique enough that I’m willing to give it a chance. Need to know more about the game? Here are some key features…

  • See Emily and Edward brought to live by the Hollywood talent of Jodie Comer (Killing Eve, Free Guy) and David Harbour (Stranger Things, Black Widow), who lend their voices, their appearance, and their formidable acting skills to the protagonists.
  • Explore Derceto Manor in this reimagination of Alone in the Dark, a love letter to the 90’s cult horror game.
  • Return to the roots of psychological horror and experience an atmospheric journey worthy of the game that started the genre.
  • Dive into a world full of unsettling sounds that make your skin crawl with a haunting, yet mesmerizing doom jazz soundtrack.
  • Enjoy the thrill of desperate survival in a world where reality starts to crumble, evil lurks in every shadow and ammunition is scarce.
  • Experience this nightmare from either Emily Hartwood’s or Edward Carnby’s perspective and unearth the dark secrets of a gothic mansion.
  • Immerse yourself in a deep psychological story that goes beyond the realms of the imaginable, by Mikael Hedberg, cult horror writer of SOMA and Amnesia.

Alone in the Dark creeps onto PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5 on March 20.
