Arsenal officially make David Raya permanent from Brentford

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Arsenal have officially made Spanish goalkeeper David Raya permanent after taking him on a season-long loan from Brentford.

“After a year on loan as a Gunner, I can finally say that I will be an Arsenal player for many years to come,” Raya told the club’s official website on Thursday.

Raya arrived at Arsenal in August last year with the aim of increasing the competition in the goalkeeping position with Aaron Ramsdale.

Raya said in his statement that he is happy to finally be able to join Arsenal on a permanent basis.

“I can’t wait to see what happens in the future, but I’m still enjoying the present,” she continued.

Raya has made 32 appearances for Arsenal in the English Premier League for the 2023/24 season. The Spanish goalkeeper has kept 16 clean sheets, conceded just 16 goals and won the Golden Glove award.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta welcomed the deal and praised Raya’s contribution last season.

“David Raya showed us how important he is to us last season, so we are happy that he is now our player,” Arteta said.
