Jakarta (ANTARA) – Spanish La Liga club Barcelona have officially released Joao Cancelo, Joao Felix and Marcos Alonso in the 2024 summer transfer market.
“Marcos Alonso, Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo will not remain at FC Barcelona. We want to appreciate their commitment and dedication and wish them the best for their future careers,” Barcelona said on their official website on Sunday.
Barcelona have decided not to extend the loan periods of Felix and Cancelo, which expire on 30 June.
Joao Felix will return to Atletico Madrid while Joao Cancelo will return to English Premier League club Manchester City.
Both players appear regularly as Barcelona’s first team players in the 2023/24 season, with Joao Felix scoring 10 goals in 44 games and Cancelo playing 42 times in all competitions.
Before joining Barcelona, Felix had signed a contract with Atletico until June 2029 and Cancelo was still under contract with Manchester City until 2027.
Meanwhile, Marcos Alonso has been released by Barcelona after the 33-year-old’s contract expired on June 30.
The 33-year-old appeared just eight times for Barcelona last season and was out for several months with a back injury.
