Jakarta (ANTARA) – Bayern Munich has extended the contract of German midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic until 2029, the club announced on Sunday.
Pavlovic had to miss the 2024 European Cup due to illness. He was initially selected by national coach Julian Nagelsmann in his provisional squad of 26 players, but was forced to withdraw due to a throat problem ahead of Germany’s 5-1 win over Scotland on Friday (14/6).

The 20-year-old made his debut for Bayern’s first team this year and has played 19 times in the German league, scoring two goals. His good performance led him to be called up to the national team.
Borussia Dortmund midfielder Emre Can replaces Pavlovic in the final Euro 2024 squad.
The Munich-born player can also play for the Serbian national team. Pavlovic is a product of Bayern’s coaching system and has been signed by the club since he was seven.
Pavlovic said in his statement that the illness he suffered from interrupted his dream of playing the European Cup on home soil. He is also happy that his stay at Bayern has been extended.
Bayern sporting director Max Eberl hailed Pavlovic as a role model for how he pushed himself to the highest level and said the youngster paved the way for him to reach his current level.
