Chelsea have brought in Leicester midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

It’s fantastic to be sitting here as a Chelsea player.

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Chelsea have signed Leicester midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, the Premier League club announced on their official website on Tuesday (7/2).

Dewsbury-Hall was reportedly recruited for a £30m transfer fee.

The 25-year-old has signed a six-year contract with Stamford Bridge and his move means he will reunite with new Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca. The pair worked together when they both had careers at Leicester.

“It’s fantastic to be able to sit here as a Chelsea player. “This is a club that people grew up watching and hoping to play for, so it’s a privilege to be here,” Dewsbury-Hall was quoted as saying on Chelsea’s official website.

One of the positives for Leicester about the transfer of Dewsbury-Hall is that the transfer can help the club meet the requirements of the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability regulations. The transfer to Dewsbury-Hall was recorded as pure profit because the player was a product of the club’s education.

He made 120 appearances for Leicester, scoring 17 goals. He scored 12 goals last season, when the club were promoted to the top tier of English football.

Dewsbury-Hall is Chelsea’s fourth summer signing, having signed defender Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer from Fulham, midfielder Omari Kellyman on a free transfer from Aston Villa and young striker Marc Guiu on a free transfer from Barcelona.
