Cyberpunk 2077 Sees 23% Performance Improvement With New NVIDIA Beta Driver 550.9

Massive Cyberpunk 2077 performance improvements are coming to PC in the near future, judging from the game’s performance with a recent NVIDIA beta driver.

As tested by Compusemble, the NVIDIA beta driver 550.9 brings performance improvements in CDPR’s open-world RPG with and without Frame Generation enabled. Playing the game with the latest Windows Insider Build 26040 and the NVIDIA beta driver 550.9 brings the biggest performance improvement, a 23% increase over the current stable Windows build and NVIDIA driver, which is extremely impressive for some software changes.

Unfortunately, the NVIDIA beta drivers don’t come with patch notes, so we do not know exactly what has been changed over the previous driver to bring this considerable Cyberpunk 2077 performance improvement. To learn more about the changes, we will have to wait for them to get implemented into the public driver, possibly in the next release.

Cyberpunk 2077 is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Xbox One worldwide. You can learn more about the game’s massive 2.0 update and the Phantom Liberty expansion with Alessio’s review.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty builds upon what was an already great game to deliver more fantastic storytelling (with a spy thriller theme, this time around), exciting combat, and very high-quality side content. The perk tree overhaul is a major improvement to progression, and additions like vehicle combat and the overhauled police system are very welcome, albeit not game-changing. If you’ve been holding out on Cyberpunk 2077 until now, you’ll find a huge game with over 120 hours of quality content and an incredibly immersive game world to literally lose yourself in.
