Fermin Lopez leads Barcelona to beat Almeria 2-0

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Fermin Lopez led Barcelona to a 2-0 victory over Almeria in the Spanish League match at the Power Horse Stadium, Almeria, on Friday morning WIB.

Two Barcelona goals came from Fermin Lopez in each half, according to La Liga records.

Barcelona remain in second place with 79 points from 36 games, while Almeria are bottom with 17 points.

Barcelona dominated the match with 68% of ball possession and had a total of seven shots on target.

Almeria took the initiative by attacking first and creating a chance with Bruno Langa’s kick which was saved by Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen.

Barcelona scored a goal in the 16th minute after Hector Fort Garcia’s cross was met by Fermin Lopez’s header which found the back of the Almeria goal.

Almeria posed a threat with Leo Baptistao’s kick going wide of Barcelona’s goal, while Barcelona created a chance with Lamine Yamal’s hard kick hitting the goal post.

Almeria almost equalized when Adri Embarba’s shot hit the post.

Under pressure in the second half, Barcelona doubled their lead in the 67th minute after Sergi Roberto’s cross was converted into a goal by a shot from Lopez.

Next, in week 37 of the Spanish League, Barcelona will host Rayo Vallecano, on Monday (20/5), while Almeria will visit the home of Mallorca on the same day.
