Gboard is Working on Bringing “Seamless Voice Typing” to Make Voice Typing Seamless and Faster

Voice typing on our smartphones has become a lot more useful than it used to be. It is quick, very good at understanding what the user is saying, and gets the job done. However, activating it is still a two-step process, and Gboard is looking to change that.

Gboard is going to make it super-easy for users to type using their voice

At the time of writing, if you want to use voice typing on Gboard or any other keyboard on your device, for that matter. You are going to have to bring up the voice typing window by tapping on the microphone icon on the keyboard and then start talking. However, the new update will change that by introducing “seamless voice typing,” which means that the keyboard app will always be ready to hear what you say.

This was found in the Gboard 13.8 beta version, and it has strings that talk about the new feature. Once you enable the feature, voice typing will start whenever the keyboard shows up, and if you do not want to use it, you do not have to. In addition to that, the feature can also be turned off if you think it is not your cup of tea, but it honestly is nice to see Google working on a feature that makes things easier for users.

We are not sure if this feature is also going to arrive on Gboard for all devices or if it is just exclusive to Pixel phones. Whatever the case might be, considering how it is available in the beta version as part of the strings, we will be learning more about it soon. It would be a shame not to release this feature for non-Pixel devices, considering how popular the keyboard app has become.
