Joselu: My dream wasn’t as good as what happened today

As a striker I dream of scoring goals and I never imagined it could happen like tonight and take the team to the final

Gianyar (ANTARA) – Real Madrid striker Joselu Mato is happy with his contribution to Real becoming the hero of the victory that took the team to the final phase of the Champions League.

Joselu Mato’s two goals in the 88th minute and 90+1 saw Los Blancos overturn Bayern Munich with an aggregate score of 2-1 or 4-3. The return match of the Champions League semi-final which took place at the Santiago Bernabeu, Madrid, on Thursday morning WIB.

“My dreams are not as beautiful as what happened today. As a striker, I dream of scoring goals, and I never imagined it happening like tonight and also taking the team to the final, it’s really better,” said Joselu Mato, quoted from the club’s official website.

The Spanish international striker revealed that his presence in a Real uniform was to make a contribution and was reluctant to think about how many goals he had scored this season.

“I came here to contribute and do my best. The coach knows what I can offer at the start of the season, and I know it too. I’m happy to have won the Spanish championship title and be in the Champions League final,” Joselu said.

Joselu, on loan at Real Madrid from RCD Espanyol at the start of the season, is still reluctant to discuss his future as he wants to focus on the Champions League final.

“I’m focused on what happened tonight and the fact that we will have a Champions League final to be played within three weeks. “There will be time to talk about the future,” said the former Stoke City player.

“I want to be 100% in the next few weeks and then we will discuss it,” he added.

With this victory, Real Madrid have reached six Champions League finals in the last ten years. Real Madrid will face Borussia Dortmund in the final tournament which will take place at Wembley Stadium, London, next June.
