Kompany is reportedly one step away from becoming Bayern Munich’s new manager

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Vincent Kompany is reportedly one step closer to becoming Bayern Munich’s new manager, even though they have just been relegated along with Burnley to the English Premier League this season.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Bayern and Burnley will only need to agree on the fee for the Belgian coach’s transfer.

“Bayern is close to finalizing a deal to appoint Vincent Kompany as their new coach,” Romano wrote on his X account on Thursday.

Romano also said that Kompany received a coaching offer from Bayern as early as Monday (20/5).

As is known, Bayern Munich is looking for a new coach following the confirmation of Thomas Tuchel’s departure at the end of the season.

Several big names such as Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann, Ralf Rangnick and Oliver Glasner took turns rejecting Bayern’s offer after Tuchel expressed his desire to leave in February.

They then turned to Vincent Kompany, who cemented his reputation as one of Europe’s talented young managers when he led Burnley to promotion from the Championship Division in 2022/23.

This 38-year-old manager managed to ensure that Burnley progressed to the English Premier League with seven games remaining, a league record.
