Legendary player Jesus Navas will leave Sevilla in the summer

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Sevilla captain and all-time record holder Jesus Navas will leave the club at the end of the season, the club announced on Thursday.

The 38-year-old defender won eight trophies during his two spells at the club, spanning a total of 17 seasons at the team where he began his career.

“Navas will leave Sevilla at the end of the 2023/2024 season… The captain said this to the club, his teammates and the technical staff during training this morning”, read the official statement from Sevilla. Navas has played 688 games for Sevilla in all competitions, making his 500th La Liga appearance for the Andalusian club in midweek.

The Spaniard has scored 39 goals and provided 119 assists while wearing the Sevilla kit. He started his career as a winger and then played as a right back.

Navas won four Europa League titles, two Copa del Rey, one European Super Cup and one Spanish Super Cup with Sevilla.

In 2013, Navas left for Manchester City, with whom he helped win the Premier League title and two Premier League Cups, before returning to Sevilla in 2017.
