Spanish championship standings: Cadiz maintains hope of remaining in La Liga

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Cadiz maintains its hopes of remaining in La Liga next season after beating Sevilla with a score of 1-0 in week 36 of the Spanish League at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium, Seville, on Thursday morning WIB.

In this match, Cadiz’s victory over Sevilla came thanks to the only goal scored by Sergi Guardiola in injury time of the second half, according to La Liga records.

Thanks to this victory, Cadiz took its breath to survive in the highest caste of Spanish football after having collected 32 points in 36 games and finishing 18th in the table.

However, Cadiz’s fate depends on the match results of the teams above them in the table such as Las Palmas, Rayo Vallecano, Celta Vigo and Mallorca.

If these four teams manage to get a win in their last two La Liga matches this season, Cadiz will surely be relegated, even if they can win their remaining matches.

Meanwhile, the three teams in the top four, namely Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, were recorded as achieving perfect results in the 36th week.

Los Blancos managed to secure a crushing victory over Deportivo Alaves 5-0, Barcelona beat Almeria 2-0, while Atletico Madrid beat Getafe 3-0.

A different result was obtained by third place in the standings, i.e. Girona, forced to suffer a narrow 0-1 defeat against Villarreal.
