Taking Aston Villa through the UCL, Unai Emery’s contract extended by five years

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Aston Villa have announced that manager Unai Emery has signed a new long-term contract lasting five years.

“Aston Villa is pleased to announce that manager Unai Emery has agreed to sign a five-year contract extension,” the English Premier League club wrote on its official website on Monday.

In this way, Emery will remain at Villa Park until the summer of 2029 after leading this club to qualify for the Champions League (UCL) for the first time by finishing fourth in the English Premier League table for the 2023/24 season.

Since being appointed manager of the Villains in November 2022, the 52-year-old Spanish coach has managed to improve the performances of the club which was in 17th place in the table when he arrived.

Emery will now focus on strengthening his squad so that it can compete in the English Premier League and Champions League again next season.

“I am very happy to be able to take on the responsibility of leading this club,” the former Arsenal manager said after extending his contract.

He said he was very satisfied with the environment and the structure of the club which will be able to take this project to the highest levels.

“We are very much looking forward to continuing this journey with limitless ambition,” he continued
