The Indonesian Embassy inaugurates a new sales point for tires and rims for Indonesian vehicles in Egypt

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Indonesian Ambassador to Egypt, represented by the Commercial Attache of the Indonesian Embassy in Cairo, M Syahran Bhakti S, inaugurated an Indonesian vehicle tire and rim sales outlet in Madinaty City, Egypt on June 9 .

Syahran expressed his gratitude for the inauguration of the Indonesian tire and rim sales outlet in the Madinaty area, very close to the new administrative capital of Egypt.

According to him, the success achieved by this company, with 11 Indonesian tire and rim outlets, is based only on good intentions, mutual cooperation and mutual trust that continues to be cultivated with Indonesian tire and rim manufacturers.

“On behalf of the nation, the company and the people of Indonesia, I would like to thank all the dedication, commitment, hard work and loyalty that have been built by Dr. Khaled Hammad Shehata and Ashraf Hammad Shehata as owners and principal directors of Ashrafco , a pioneer in vehicle tires and rims since 1986,” Syahran said in a written statement from the Indonesian embassy in Cairo on Tuesday.

He hopes that the company and its business partners can continue to import higher quality Indonesian products.

Khaled Hammad Shehata and Ashraf Hammad Shehata as owners and directors of the company expressed their gratitude for the support of the Indonesian Embassy in Cairo, which provided assistance and facilitation in business relations with Indonesian tire and rim companies.

The company remains the exclusive agent of three major Indonesian companies, namely PT Elang Perdana Tire Industry for Accelera Brand vehicle tires, PT Bangun Sarana Alloy (BSA) Tangerang and PT Prima Alloy Universal (PT PASU) Surabaya for vehicle rims.​​​​​

Khaled is optimistic that Indonesian tire and rim products can compete and become increasingly popular in the Egyptian market, while continuing to target the upper-middle class and placing a premium on excellent service and door to door serviceincluding online services.

It hopes to be able to import more than US$5 million or IDR 81.53 billion in tires and rims from Indonesia in 2024.

According to a report from the Egyptian Bureau of Statistics (CAPMAS), in 2023, exports of Indonesian vehicle tires to Egypt will contribute to Indonesia’s foreign exchange of 13.48 million US dollars or the equivalent of 219.74 billion IDR.

This amount increased by 11.75% compared to 2022 exports of US$12.06 million, with the main competing countries being China, Turkey, Thailand, India, Vietnam, Japan and South Korea.

Meanwhile, for Indonesian rims, the export value to Egypt in 2023 will reach $2.08 million, which is an increase of 463% compared to the export value in 2022 of $370,000.

Indonesia’s competitor countries include China, the United States, Japan, Thailand, India, South Korea, Germany, Turkey, Italy and the United Arab Emirates.
